Valorant 11.00 Patch: Waylay Buffs, Corrode, and a Sharper Competitive Reset
Valorant's 11.00 update has arrived with the confident swagger of a midseason reset, and Riot Games has packed it with agent tuning, a new battlefield, and enough clarity changes to make the server feel freshly polished. The patch lands during Valorant's fifth-anniversary summer, a celebration that has already brought in-game capsules, the debut of Corrode, confirmation of a move to Unreal Engine 5, and a promise that replays are on the horizon. The 11.00 notes are another chapter in that larger story, but they also stand on their own as a meaningful shake-up for competitive and casual players alike.

Agents Feel the Balance Team's Hand
Waylay steps into the spotlight as the biggest winner of the patch. Riot describes her as a high-mastery agent whose win rate climbs sharply as players gain experience, yet she has remained slightly weak across skill levels. The 11.00 changes aim to sharpen her ability to take fights right after exiting Lightspeed, make her Refract loop easier to play around, and improve her overall flow. Refract now has a minimum time of 0.35 seconds, down from 0.5, and a maximum time of 2 seconds, down from 3. The unequip time drops from 1.0 to 0.8 seconds, while the Refract delay after reactivation falls from 0.1 to 0.05 seconds. Lightspeed's unequip delay is reduced from 0.8 to 0.6 seconds. Saturate becomes more threatening too: its windup before explosion falls from 0.75 to 0.6 seconds, and its size grows from 10 meters to 12 meters. Riot hopes the extra power justifies Saturate's 300-credit cost.
Reyna's Leer is getting a trim. Its HP drops from 100 to 80, and audio plus visual hit-confirm feedback has been added for shots that land on it. That is no small thing, because Leer can feel unusually tanky when players are unsure whether their shots are connecting. Neon's Relay Bolt and Phoenix's Curveball are also being adjusted to leave more room for counterplay. These abilities are designed to create strong combat advantages, but their fast activation left opponents with little time to respond. The changes aim to increase moment-to-moment counterplay without removing the need to anticipate and position against them.
Breach, Brimstone, Clove, Cypher, Killjoy, Omen, and Sova all receive consistency-focused updates. Breach's Aftershock visual effects around the windup and explosions resolve slightly more quickly and block less gameplay space. Sova's Recon Bolt gains a louder projectile loop, improved sound travel, adjusted audio priority and attenuation, and updated audio tech that makes the arrow's trajectory, impact point, and reveal radius easier to understand. Owl Drone now gives enemies a light warning audio loop when they are spotted, and successful shots on the drone produce audio hit-confirm feedback. Clove's Pick-Me-Up visuals now show when the speed boost is active. Killjoy's Lockdown detain pulse delay drops from 0.5 to 0.15 seconds. Cypher's Spycam dart visuals make directionality easier to read. Omen's Dark Cover no longer plays third-person audio within 12.5 meters for opponents, though allies still hear it.
Corrode Invites Players Into a Salt-Crystallized Stronghold
Corrode is the new 5v5 spike map, and it arrives with layered defenses and strategic depth across a medieval fortress setting. Players navigate contrasting castle fortifications and village structures, battling across multi-level positions in a salt-crystallized stronghold shaped by radianite storms. The map features three lanes and two sites, giving teams plenty of room to rotate, fake, and fight for control.

| Dedicated queue | Corrode Only for five days, using Swiftplay format |
Competitive players have a launch event to look forward to as well. Corrode is available in the Competitive queue on the first day of the patch. For the first two weeks, RR losses on Corrode are reduced by 50%, while wins still grant 100% of the usual RR. Riot has also adjusted rank resets, and players may see a smaller drop in rank after completing placements for this midseason reset. The maximum rank a player can place is now Ascendant 3, and the Ranked Gun Buddy has arrived. Escalation players also get Icebox back after Riot addressed spawn-related issues that emerged in patch 10.09.
Clarity, Bug Fixes, and Premier Updates
The patch is a lot to digest, and that is putting it mildly. General updates include more visible suppression visual effects on opponents and new UI/UX animations around picking up the spike, making it more obvious when a player has grabbed it. Bug fixes touch several agents: KAY/O's ultimate sometimes failed to apply suppression visuals, Raze's Paint Shells VFX could persist across rounds, Omen's targeting views could become inconsistent during Dark Cover if Shadowstep was spammed, Skye and Cypher had tooltip spacing issues, Breach's Fault Line could rarely fail to apply its debuff around varying elevations, and Astra's Astral World visuals could persist after a disconnect and reconnect.
Premier enters Stage V25A4 with new team recognition. A player's social hover card now shows their Premier team name, division, and current Premier Score. Playing two weekly matches or one playoff match with a team earns a Team Tag and basic Plating. Team Tags appear in the social panel, lobby, in-game killfeed, and Competitive Leaderboards, while Plating shows on the player card. Qualifying for playoffs evolves Plating, and winning playoffs unlocks the Champion's Aura for the entire Act. Players can also report inappropriate Premier team names from Standings, Match History, and end-of-game screens. Repeatedly choosing offensive names can lead to Premier restrictions. On console, the Esports Hub is coming, and players can bet the first two weeks on Corrode will be lively.",
